I tend to charge for a project rather than an hourly rate but there are times when an hourly rate may be more appropriate – hourly rates vary according to the type of work to be undertaken.

I offer a no obligation free quote based on being provided with a detailed brief of the work to be undertaken, and if appropriate, a sample of the work. For example, please let me know:

​

• what is to be done—such as the level of editing required, whether copy for captions/illustrations/blurb is required etc

• if guidelines for design and typesetting are part of the project—style guide, preferred spelling, referencing, headings etc

• all items to be edited—such as manuscript or CD, photographs, illustrations, graphs, author’s comments etc

• timelines/stages for when the work is to be completed; and in what format.
